How to Export XMind Files
XMind offers multiple export formats to share your mind maps with others or use them in different applications.
Built-in Export Options
From XMind Desktop
- Open your mind map in XMind
- Click File → Export
- Choose your format:
- PDF - For presentations and printing
- PNG/JPEG - For images and documents
- SVG - For scalable vector graphics
- Word - For Microsoft Word documents
- PowerPoint - For presentations
- Excel - For data analysis
- FreeMind - For .mm compatibility
- OPML - For outline processors
- Select the save location and click Export
From XMind Web/Mobile
- Open your mind map
- Click the Share or Export icon
- Select format (limited options available)
- Download the file

Troubleshooting
Export button grayed out? Check if you have editing permissions for the mind map.
Missing formats? Some export options require XMind Pro subscription.
Large file size? Try PNG instead of PDF or reduce image quality in export settings.
